The light……A short story of love

I walked on an endless beach feeling the warm breeze on my face the sun brightly shining above, before me I saw a couple holding hands; they looked to be in their seventies. As they walked the beach, they seemed to walk the same steps at the same time in perfect harmony. I wanted to run up to them to ask what was their secret? They stopped together on the edge of the water and the woman laughed and giggled as the cool light water hit first her toes, then her feet and afterwards her pants were wet. The man laughed with her and followed her into the water, his feet and pants became wet and in a second he was half way in the water. They laughed and smiled and enjoyed each other. I stood from afar, watched and felt so full of joy in their bliss. As the woman came out of the water slightly out of breath and smiling , she looked at me and smiled. I asked her “What is your secret! You are so happy and so in love, its amazing.” She had a twinkle in her sky blue eyes and said “We stay in the light.” I did not really understand what she meant. “We have been married for fifty years and for fifty years we have walked this beach together sun or rain, storm and wind, happy and sad even when we were angry at each other …
